Elegant Country House in the Chiltern Hills

Elegant Country House in the Chiltern Hills

The Grade II listed family house has a beautiful countryside setting in the heart of a 50 acre estate in the rolling green Chilterns Hills, a short drive from the historic town of Henley and just 2 hours from London.

The English estate was the former home of Lee Radziwill, the sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who lived at the property with her husband, HSH Prince Stanislas Radziwillin the 1960s and 70s. After their divorce in 1974, the estate was sold to the automotive empire heir, Henry Ford II, and has remained in the family since.

The handsome country house is approached via a fabulous lime tree avenue, entered through wrought iron gates, designed as a replica of the Royal gates at Sandringham, which were gifted by Queen Alexandra in 1908.

The landscaped grounds were designed by Lanning Roper and have been featured in both Architectural Digest and Vogue.

Built in the 18th century, Turville Heath House presents beautifully, restored and updated over the years into a fine family home.

The country house has a number of elegant reception rooms and classic period details throughout, seen in the fine cornicing and sash windows.

The 5 bedroom home comes with an elevator from the ground floor to the first floor master suite, several domestic offices, and a luxurious Pool House featuring a guest suite, indoor pool, spa, and a fitness centre, built in the last 10 years.

The estate comes with 2 additional 3-bedroom cottages, known as Rose Cottage and Turville Cottage, and a 2-bedroom guest house known as the White House, named so by Radziwill as a tribute to her sister and brother-in-law, President John F. Kennedy.
