One of the very few Gallipoli-era vessels still in service around the world.
Originally commissioned for the Ottoman Empire in 1914, this yacht was built by Fairfield Shipping Company in Glasgow and was intended to be named Reshid Pasha. However, with the onset of World War I, its delivery was delayed, and instead of reaching Türkiye, it was repurposed by the British military as Waterwitch and deployed in the Gallipoli campaign—one of the war’s most pivotal battles between British and Ottoman forces.
From 1918 to 1922, it remained under British control during the occupation of Türkiye, serving in military operations. It was not until 1923, with the establishment of the Turkish Republic, that it was finally delivered to its intended home.
Back in Türkiye, the yacht became one of the largest passenger ferries on the Bosphorus, transporting over 1,000 passengers per trip and becoming a beloved fixture in Istanbul’s maritime landscape.
Over the decades, it has carried world leaders, royalty, and elite travelers, including:
Members of the British Royal Family
French President François Mitterrand
U.S. Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton
This storied past has cemented its status as one of the most prestigious vessels in Türkiye’s maritime history.
Finally delivered to Türkiye in 1923, it became a landmark of Istanbul’s maritime history, ferrying 1,000 passengers per trip across the Bosphorus—a bridge between Europe and Asia before its transformation into a private luxury cruiser in 1984.
A Masterpiece of Restoration: Where Classic Elegance Meets Modern Luxury
In 1984, the vessel was rescued from retirement and transformed into an ultra-luxury cruiser, marking the beginning of its new era as an exclusive charter yacht.
By 2008, a meticulous two-year restoration returned the 53-meter yacht to its full grandeur as a floating palace, a masterpiece of classic nautical design, where every element reflects the grandeur of a bygone era. The wood-paneled interiors exude warmth and refinement, with gleaming brass accents, stately staircases, and luxurious fabrics sourced from the world’s finest textile houses.
Every detail was thoughtfully curated:
✔ A grand main lounge, reminiscent of an Edwardian-era salon.
✔ An indoor dining room for up to 60 guests—a setting as refined as any historic European estate.
✔ A cozy library filled with curated titles for quiet indulgence.
✔ An expansive upper deck with elegant loungers for soaking in the golden glow of the Turkish Riviera.
✔ A covered outdoor dining area for 42 guests, perfect for alfresco dining under the stars.
With twelve exquisitely designed cabins, the yacht accommodates 24 guests, each suite adorned with luxurious Haremlique linens and bespoke finishes, ensuring an experience that is both intimate and indulgent.
